Realism - Klaus - Actor


A bit of editing to the jaw line, nose and beard/stubble, among other things.


Forgot not to paint on white back-ground >.<






So as I am doing all that I can to leave my comfort zone now when painting/sketching I have finally managed to drag myself into doing some Realism. This was one of the most daunting styles I have ever attempted for numerous reasons, so I am taking it slowly and asking for guidance along the way (via conceptart.org etc).

'The Long Journey Ahead' [Uni Project]

Added some leaves and more definition. Lack of time to complete.


Edited a few ideas and refined some parts - primarily the jungle trees.





It our final project we were to take part in 1 of 3 competitions that were taking place on various websites; 2 had already finish but the 3rd had just started. I decided to take part in the competition that was still active (on Conceptart.org) for the chance to take part in it and because I feel my environment art isn't up to the level of my character concept. 

We were set a lose rule set and given the title above, then set free to run with our imaginations.

Famine [Uni Project]

I would of liked a little longer than a week to create this character, due to all the other work I'v had to do this week. Though I'm glad that my painting speed has improved due to this.







During this project we were to get into groups of 4 and choose a game from the list provided by the tutors.  We then had to each choose either character or environment and create a piece within our game choice. Our team chose Darksiders 2; I was to create a character within this world using a similar art style - I chose to create a depiction of famine, one of the four Riders of Apocalypse.

Character Design [Uni Project - WIP]

Here I decided to start more construction work on the arms; I wanted them to be much larger than the rest of his body whilst still looking in proportion - all the while keeping his agility based look exposed.



Testing colours and light sources as I go.




This is a character I started for University; we were put into groups with which we came up with any possible ideas for characters (IE race/gender/weapons/genre/abilities etc). We then chose a select few from our list and were to design a character based around them.
