Modular Assets [Uni Project]

Creating modular assets was really enjoyable, once you have put the work in to creating the assets, you are free to build and shape anything you can from them... When building I had a Griffin Roost/spar/get-away in mind  :P

The final model was slightly above 20k tri-count...

Dota 2 Modelling [Uni Project]

During this project we were to design an Orthographic view of a character, model, UVMap, Texture, Rig and load it into UDK - so-far, this is the only character we have built. I had some issues with using too many tris at first, but I soon managed to reduce them down. I am also not 100% happy with the lighting effects I have used in UDK -  so I have shown the model in Maya without lighting.

Though this project was very enjoyable it was challenging at the same time, but always very fulfilling after learning many new things.

We were allowed:
- 600 tris for model
- 50 tries per item
- 60 tris per stand

Quick Paints

Some painting I did in a bit of spare time I had, in order to practice tones and perspective. These are incomplete pictures but I was also testing how far I could get in the time I had.







And here I wanted to test out some tips and tricks I had learned with various tools and techniques (of course this is also incomplete)...

During this project we were given a choice between 3 different models and told to pick just one to texture. The Model I picked was themed around and called 'Cybabe'...

Granok Hercules - WildStar Inspired

An idea given to me via an online friend of mine. This is one race from the MMO WilStar (Granok) wearing the coat of another race (Draken) as Hercules would wear a lions hide.

Once again the picture seemed to start to drag on and I  started being a little sloppy : / So I rounded it up and readied myself for my next painting.

Mechari_Warrior WildStar_Inspired

I have currently seyt myself the task of designing and painting a Mechari Warrior from the upcoming MMO WildStar. I am attempting to paint it in Carbines style...

I found myself once again spending far too long on one painting and so sped up the later stages of the image. It isn't complete to a level I'd like it to be, but my painting speed MUST improve! :D

Group_Project [Uni Project] ...Continued

Character #3
Yamanba - Mother of Kintaro; she hides herself as a decrepit old lady, but within lies a vengeful spirit full of hate. Feeding on the souls of lost, wandering, children; yet she chose to save and spare Kintaro -whom now owes her his life.

Once again I tried too speed up my painting ability, though I believe this is not quite as 'complete' as pictures I'v produced in prior projects - I managed to reduce my painting time significantly.

Character #2
Futakuchi-Onna - Otherwise known as 'Tiny-Mouth'; this is a child girl from Japanese mythology who is cursed with an ever-hungry mouth with razor teeth that resides within the back of her head is at first an ally of Kintaro, later becoming an enemy. Hiding within her hair the mouth, once hungry, will control Futakuchi's hair like razor whips.

Kintaro - Child boy of Japanese mythology blessed with inhuman strength whom lived in the forest among the animals.

This is a much faster paint than I would normally do - trying to increase my painting times via concentrating details on important parts.

Group_Project [Uni Project]

During this project we were to select from a list of current gaming companies and create a smaller game based off our chosen companies prior works. I was given the role of Project Leader and Concept Artist; I must produce 3 character designs and an environment design - whilst gathering our groups work and producing a presentation.

Level Design Document- LDD [Uni Project]

Here we where tasked with creating a level within SketchUp and told to create a complete LDD along with it. The LDD is around 23 pages long and includes information such as; cut-scenes and tactics - very similar to a game walk-through.



This LDD was based around a Lego style/genre of game.


The 'Prison Guard'; a mini-boss whom you are sure to meet along the way!

Company Roles [Uni Project]

During this project we were put into groups and given a genre, we had choose our roles within the group
and work together to create the 'foundations' of a game. 


Above is where the player finds the jet-pack item within a frozen cave.
